According to a new survey recently published by Variety.com, an impressive 63% of people pulled felt that the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens film due out December 18th, 2015 could trump previous installments. The survey was done by the polling firm Harris Interactive, and they spoke to 2,031 US adults, of whom 801 described themselves as Star Wars fans.
Here are their other findings:
36% said “more advanced CGI’ was their primary reason for going to see the new film.
15% wanted to see the film because of J.J. Abrams’ involvement.
25% said they wanted to see the new film because of a “more interesting story”.
25% wanted to see the new film because it is closer to the style of the original trilogy.
14% felt the cast was better than previous episodes.
What do you guys think about these findings? The hype for Episode 1: The Phantom Menace was huge leading up to it’s release back in 1999, and the film’s expectations turned off a lot of original trilogy Star Wars fans. Let’s hope this isn’t another case of expectations being too high to meet.
